Premier League 4 Sport

Several of Ormesby’s Premier League 4 Sport players made their way to St Mary’s College, Hull at the weekend for what was, sadly, the last PL4S regional competition.
The days competition consisted of 4 groups;
Under 14 Boys, Under 14 Girls, Under 11 Boys, Under 11 Girls.
There was also an additional open competition in the afternoon.

Left to right: Sahan Perera, Jak Ali, Dylan Savage and Jonah Hannaway
It was an extremely competitive day with some brilliant performances and with an extraordinary amount of matches going to the fifth end – the majority of these favouring the M’bro players who amazingly kept their cool at the business end. These victories, I believe, culminated in the success of most groups.
THE BOYS UNDER 14 – Gold
THE GIRLS UNDER 14 – Gold
THE GIRLS UNDER 11 – Gold
Issy Doyle was awarded the “Most Outstanding Player of the Day” with some unbelievable performances.
And to cap it off the players won the Overall Team Trophy.
On the day, not one Middlesbrough players was below par. Everyone was focussed and gave their all. What was most memorable for me was the way all PL4S players encouraged their team mates and willed them to win those 5th Enders. Team spirit was clearly there in abundance and a joy to observe. Such a shame that Premier League 4 Sport has come to an end.
